AIDS Foundation Houston

AIDS Foundation Houston, Inc. (AFH), founded in 1982, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that was the first AIDS Service Organization in Texas and remains a national leader in HIV/STD programming. With the goal of creating a community where HIV is stigma-free and rare, and people have equitable access to care, AFH works towards the mission of ending the HIV epidemic in the Houston area. AFH services include prevention education, HIV/STI testing, outreach in Texas prisons, PrEP care, supportive housing, food assistance, a summer camp for children, and supportive services to persons affected by HIV/AIDS.

 

Avenue 360

Avenue 360 Health and Wellness, a 501 (c)3 organization, is a Federally Qualified Health Center with seven clinics in the Houston region providing primary, behavioral health, and dental care to medically underserved communities.

Previously, the organization was known as Houston Area Community Services (HACS), founded in 1998 to treat those living with AIDS. Several years ago, HACS partnered with Bering Omega (Omega House), which provided hospice care to people living with HIV/AIDS, to form Avenue 360.

The mission of Avenue 360 is to provide high quality and caring services to promote healthy people and communities.

 

Houston Harm Reduction Alliance

Houston Harm Reduction Alliance advances harm reduction policies, practices, and programs that address the adverse effects of substance use, including overdose prevention, the spread of blood-borne disease, treatment needs, and legislation.

 

Legacy Community Health

As a full-service, Federally Qualified Health Center, Legacy identifies unmet needs and gaps in health-related services and develops client-centered programs to address those needs. A United Way-affiliated agency since 1990, we currently provide adult primary care, pediatrics, dental care, vision services, behavioral health services, OB/GYN and maternity, vaccinations and immunizations, health promotion and community outreach, wellness and nutrition, and comprehensive HIV/AIDS care.

Lesbian Health Initiative of Houston

Established in 1992, the Lesbian Health Initiative of Houston, Inc. (LHI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to eliminating barriers to healthcare and promoting health and wellness for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT)-identified women and transgender men through collaborative and integrated Education, Access and Advocacy programs.

 

Out Youth

Out Youth offers individual counseling to youth and young adults ages 12 to 23. They strive to make counseling services affordable and accessible. For individuals and families who can afford to pay, they charge $10 per counseling session.

Planned Parenthood is one of the nation’s leading providers of high-quality, affordable health care, and the nation’s largest provider of sex education. They offer compassionate care, backed by medical experts and more than 100 years of research in reproductive health.

 

Whatsinthemirror?

Whatsinthemirror? is a 501c3 non-profit organization and social movement that provides suicide prevention and mental health awareness through art and advocacy to people of color and low socio-economic communities. They focus on marginalized communities that includes women, LGBTQIA+, and youth.
